Extended Privacy Policy for Medical Data

ScreenPoint Medical processes medical imaging data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to individuals. Medical imaging data used in the company, such as mammograms and associated records relating to presence of abnormalities, are anonymized to protect individual privacy. ScreenPoint Medical explicitly asks data providers for permission to collect medical data and only accepts such data when it is anonymized. In this form it may be used for the legitimate purposes of research and commercialization of the artificial intelligence software.

Data providers deliver data to ScreenPoint in anonymized or pseudo-anonymized form. If needed, ScreenPoint can provide software to data providers to perform anonymization. ScreenPoint uses industry grade anonymization techniques to remove patient information in medical data and checks if incoming data is anonymized before accepting them. The data are kept in a form with which data subjects cannot be identified, but the data can be used for the purposes of processing; the data may be stored for longer periods insofar as they might be processed solely for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes. Previous anonymized data of an individual are kept to learn about the evolution of disease. ScreenPoint implements industry grade technical and organisational measures to safeguard the privacy, the rights and the freedom of individuals.

The data is processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures. ScreenPoint as a controller of data is responsible for, and is willing to be transparent in the processing of data, and is committed to demonstrate compliance with the mentioned claims.
